C.C. BANANA ATTACKED DURING MSX SHOW!

C.C. Banana & Jim Bob Dwarf at soundcheck today

This is just unbelievable.

Last night, our MSX Tour hit Giant's Stadium for the New Jersey State Fair. C.C. Banana and Jim Bob Dwarf were the hosts. Well we started getting emails and reading things on our Gossip Board about C.C. Banana being attacked by Ralph Sutton from the Tour Bus! Here is some of what we got in:

Just back from the MSX thing in Jersey. Monaco is a dickhead. So is that douchebag cockass mother f'er Ralph (or Rob) from the Tourbus. In between PBF and EZN, C.C. Banana did his act with that other dude (whathisname?) and I guess, as a goof, Monaco tackled him onstage. Banana guy was not expecting it and it really was uncalled for. Anyway, in between EZN's and Faster's set, Rob, from the Tourbus, told the crowd, "Anyone who wants tickets to the Twisted Sister show should throw the banana guy to the ground. Make him hit the ground hard!!! And the winner gets the tickets." Of course then he tackled to the ground to wich he got up and ran back up onstage and shoved Rob back. Like the pussy that Rob is, he walked away like he didn't even do a thing. If anyone need the video of it, e-mail me.

FUCK THE TOURBUS. FRIDAY NIGHT ROCKS WITH EDDIE TRUNK IS BETTER.

It was really fucked up!!! I was 2ft away when CC came(escorted) off the stage. Basically, our resident banana was attacked after this ASSHOLE(Ralph) told the crowd to lynch him for free tickets. After being attacked, he fought back(took a swing at Ralph) & was grabbed by security. He was barely allowed back in the gate to collect his things!!!

The only reason CC got kicked out & not Ralph was the "Tour Bus" was sponsoring a few shows on the Pepsi stage at the fair. So wrong, considering CC only fought back after being jumped twice. Once, kiddingly but he was hit hard. And the second time, maliciously because some DJ thought he was being funny. NOT cool!

Please post & let us know you are OK, CC.

Floyd,

Oh my god I just got back from the show in New Jersey and CC Banana was attacked after that guy from the tour bus told the crowd to do it. Before Enuff Z Nuff, CC and Jim Bob Dwarf were singing songs and Monaco from ENuff Z Nuff came out and tackled CC. That was an awkward moment and felt kind of uncomfortable because the crowd was enjoying CC and Jim Bob and Monaco kind of wrecked that. Then during the Enuff Z Nuff set, CC came out at the end and got Monaco back with a real banana and everybody laughed it off. That was ok. Then before Faster Pussycat, the Tour Bus guy came out and was kind of being an ass, I thought. He then told the crowd to take out CC Banana really good and they'd win tickets. Some people started beating up CC and it got ugly. I didn't know you guys were putting on a wrestling show as well as a rock concert! CC seemed ok but shaken and went after Ralph but didn't really get to him. Oh yea, the bands were all great too!

hey. i was at the show in jersey tonight. the bands kicked ass. i'd never heard 40 ft. Ringo before. they're pretty good. and Faster Pussycat rocked. but what the hell was up with that shitty DJ telling everybody to beat up the banana guy? the banana guy was there promoting metalsludge.com, right? does metalsludge.com take shit from stupid people? if you guys don't do something about this shitty DJ, i'm going to be pissed.

Hello Sludge,
I saw my first Metal Sludge Extravaganza show and it was a blast and something I'll never forget. I'm sure you'll get emails about this, Ralph from the Tour Bus told the crowd to beat up C.C. Banana in order to win tickets to Twisted Sister! What an asshole. C.C. was trying to do his thing and then jealous Ralph came out and tried to incite the crowd into beating up Banana and a few drunk assholes did. Totally uncalled for. Other than that the show was great and it was good to see 40Ft. Ringo on a big stage. Thanks for the show and I'll be hitting up the other New York area Sludge shows and I hope the hosts don't get mugged there.

C.C. Banana in happier times earlier in the day

After hearing all this, we tracked down the other co-host Jim Bob Dwarf and he sent in this recap.

Well the story goes kinda like this. Banana had a couple of songs prepared he wanted to do. We did our "Those Were The Days" Archie Bunker theme parody and it was funny. Then he had his own song and brought his friend with a guitar up there to do his Skid Row parody of "I Remember You" about his run-in with Sebastian. The crowd was laughing and kind of into it and then from out of nowhere comes Monaco in a cowboy shirt and he tackles the Banana! CC kept trying to sing but Monaco was relentless. Monaco pummelled the Banana into silence then as quick as he appeared, Monaco ran off the stage. Banana got back up and tried to regain his dignity and finish the song, then the sound guy pulled the plug!

Actually it was kind of funny.

So Enuff Z'Nuff does their set and at the end of the last song, Banana comes running out with a real banana in hand and attacked Monaco with it! CC's friend with the guitar came out and helped give Monaco a taste of his own medicine. Everyone laughed and it was a pure comic moment.

Then here's the thing. We were under the impression we'd get to go out one last time before Pussycat went on stage. I mean, they take 30 min. between sets so why not go out for 5 min? However the stage manager came and told us that Faster Pussycat doesn't want any hosts going out on stage before their set. They didn't want anyone on the stage before they went on, for some reason. So not to make a big deal, CC went out into the crowd and was talking to people and doing his thing.

Then Ralph Sutton and another dude from the Tour Bus came out to do their thing, which was odd since FP supposedly didn't want anyone on the stage before they went on. Ralph did his plugs and their CD giveaways and when he was finishing up he said to the crowd, "And somebody please beat up that banana there,'" or something real close to that. So a few big rowdy guys near CC all went to town. They lifted him up and were trying to toss him around and were actually getting kind of rough with him. CC basically got his ass kicked and he was trying to get them to stop. He got scuffed up and his new Banana suit he just bought got torn. Once he had gotten out of a headlock, he went back stage to confront Ralph Sutton for telling the crowd to kick his ass. Apparently Banana went off and punched the guy! Security then was all over him and dragged him out the gates.

The Stage Manager appeared a few minutes later and tried to make sense of it all. CC Banana came back in to get his car (parked behind the stage) and get out of the costume and get his stuff together. The security came and talked to him and told CC he could file a complaint if he wanted to, so that's what he was in the process of doing.

I stuck around a little bit after the scuffle and talked to people who asked what happened, then I got the hell out of there.

The best part about it is that CC Banana has it all on videotape. The whole thing.

Hey -

This whole thing is totally blown out of proportion. Right before Enuff ZNuff went on stage While CC Banana was on - talking to the crowd, Monaco tackled him - and the whole crowd cheered. Everyone laughed - and thought it was funny.

I went on stage right before Faster Pussycat - I saw CC in the crowd, and said if someone tackled him again - I'd give them free tickets to Twisted Sister. A couple of people went over to him, and one guy picked him up and brought him to the ground. Honestly dude - there was maybe 200 people there tops - and it was very spread out - the whole place can hold up to 4-5000 people - it wasn't a dangerous situation.. it was a joke. The guy who did it even came up to me afterwards and said - I didn't hurt the guy - I just picked him up and brought him to the ground...

As I was walking off the stage - the crew and stage hands all said "that was hilarious" - but CC banana came running up to me - out of costume - and hit me. I honestly thought he was kidding. Everyone was shocked that he hit me... as was I. I wasn't going to hit him back - I just kept walking and said - 'calm down dude' I thought at that point it was over. He got mad at something I did - and hit me. Ok - maybe I deserved it - I let it go. tit for tat.. end of story.

Then, as I was walking thru the crowd saying hello to people - and again people saying that was funny to me - most of them thinking it was part of the show - I got a call on my cell phone saying to come back stage - I went back there and someone said CC wanted to press charges against me. As I went to find out what was going on - they had already asked him to leave. If he and I could have talked before that - I am sure it could have been worked out amicably - again - It was a joke - maybe not a good joke, but for gods sake the guy is in a 6 ft banana suit at a rock show.

None of this was done with any malicious intent, and honestly I don't need the headache. If I would have seen him again - I would have apologized to him. At the time I thought it was funny - maybe it was bad judgment - but I didn't see it as a dangerous situation. If there was a lot people there - I would have never said it. The place was empty. - and most fans of this genre are pretty tame. It's not like it's a Slayer show, and not one person - security, or otherwise said anything to me other than - they thought it was funny. No one thought he got hurt - and no one thought it was done with malicious intent. In fact one security guard said to me - that if he thought I wanted CC B. to get hurt - he would have thrown me out too. But he said he realized I was just joking around, and that was why I was allowed to stay.

I was talking with him and Jim bob earlier in the night and they both seemed nice to me... and there is no reason I would want any static. I just thought a guy in a banana suit would take a joke more easily - If he did indeed get hurt, I am very sorry... I don't know what else to say.

Ralph then followed that up with this email this morning:

Hey Guys,

Listen - What we can we do to come to some sort of amicable solution. I have been on the phone w/ WDHA this mornining - and I am coming to you to hear what we can do to reach a resolution on this.

I realize that even though I was joking, CC B. got upset, and I am sorry for that. I want to do something to make it up to you guys, and to him...

If he wants to come on the air and talk about it - I will even let him do that. Also - there is that MSX tour coming up in a week in NYC - if you want him to throw a banana cream pie in my face on stage or something else humiliating - I am very willing to do that.

You have to realize - this wasn't done to make fun of you guys or to do anything to hurt someone - and if it hadn't happened 40 minutes prior - on stage - I would have never said to do it in the first place

I really feel awful - and if you knew anyone that knows me - no one would say anything negative about me... I work hard to keep good relationships with people - and want to keep those relationships - as you even said - we used to work together.

If you read my website's msg board - you can see that a lot of people that were there thought it was a joke.

This music is a genre that we all feel very passionate about - and it's something that needs continued support - and all of us working together - not against ea. other.

I look forward to hearing from you soon..
----
also - everyone here - I will gladly personally address your issues or concerns - and admit that this joke was probably in poor taste - feel free to email me directly ralph@thetourbus.com

also - I think it's important to state that there is no alcohol served at this venue either...

thanks for your time.

Ok, at least Ralph can admit that he made a mistake and meant no harm to C.C., though it was still an irresponsible thing to do. If you're onstage and tell a rock crowd to do something for free tickets, they'll probably do it, even if it's lighting themselves on fire. No offense to any rock fans, but some people are stupid like that.

Metal Sludge accepts Ralph's statement and likes that he at least is making the effort to make peace with us and the banana community. Bananas have been getting the short end of the stick for a long time and people need to treat them with respect. The answer is hugs! Hug a banana, don't powerbomb one.

However, we have to let Ralph know that when he said, "there were 200 people there tops" he forgot about 3 zeros. There were 200,000 people there because our tour draws that many people in every city. D'uh!! Maybe from the angle you were standing at it looked like 200, but trust us, and we wouldn't lie about this, there were really 200,000 crazy Sludgeaholics there. What?

Maybe the real blame in all this should go to C.C. DeVille. He was the inspiration for C.C. Banana 2 years ago, so lets just all blame C.C. DeVille for all this. Sounds good to us.
